  Menswear / Loungewear designer with M&S experience Urgent

Main Purpose of the job:

Work with customer(s) to develop new products in line with both customer and business requirements. Review the market to
offer suitable concepts for customers.

Main Responsibilities/Outputs of Job (at least 5):

·Work with Director and customers on:
oDelivering profitable well designed product(s) to customer briefing.
oDeveloping targeted products to meet customer requirements and achieve targets.
oDeveloping product from concept to 1st fit approval stage for the customer(s)
·Produce product trend information to be used by and customers.
·Market research and comparative shopping to understand competitive intimates market.
·Understand/review new markets, consumers and associated lifestyle.
·Develop original designs for submission to any specified customer.
·Produce trend information to be used by and our customers.
·Creatively engineer products into required cost.
·Ensure correct components/fabrics are supplied on costing sign off for manufacture.
·Oversee handover of method and costing packs to relevant teams.
·Monitor critical path for design product lifecycle.
·Work with the customer and pattern technician to develop garments as supplied from the customers in their tech. Packs.
·Suggest and amend samples to obtain best cost.
·Ensure correct components are supplied on costing for manfacture.
·Support the team in the development of product for presentation to the customer.

Contacts

The post holder will be required to build and maintain good working relationships both within the team and with other
teams/departments within the Company. Specifically to liaise with:
·Garment technical teams on new concepts to confirm suitable methods of make-up
·Commercial and development teams to ensure best service/product are offered to customer(s)
·Day-to-day liaison with the production units to ensure accuracy of samples.

The job involves establishing and maintaining constructive contacts with external organisations and the post holder may
be required to represent the organisation, as appropriate. Specifically to liaise with:
·Suppliers to obtain most suitable components to customer standards.

General

Such other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.

Comply with Company procedures regarding the confidentially and security of information.

Practical Requirements

The post holder may be required to travel within the UK and overseas as and when required. This may involve overnight
stays.

Strong interpersonal and people management skills
Ability to prioritise and multi-task
Product design skills, CAD skills
